I probably will add a way, perhaps in the next update, to ask the feeder to eat right from the get-go. The logic behind how it currently works is that when she's trying to persuade you, you can use that against her to get her to eat too. But you have to trigger that persuasion attempt (which you can do at the start of the date by picking a non-food or low-calorie option).
I think your idea about using Dizzy's to more blatantly feed the feeder would work well. I'll see if I can add that too at some point!
