In chapter one of the demo, or one of the quick character creations?
So what happens is that whichever choice you click on, it won't take you to the next passage? It's a weird issue but I don't know what's happening; I didn't hear of anyone else having this issue and I play-tested it myself and it works fine, so it sounds like it could be an issue on your end. I've heard of there sometimes being issues when playing in Chrome. Are you playing on a phone, browser or the itch app?
I'm playing on phone internet browser, and the same issue happened when i moved to Firefox. The choice box for complexion will turn red when I click on it but not change to another screen. And if I scroll after clicking it will unclick and return to original shade of choice boxes. I can click other complexion choices and they'll change colour but nothing happens.
Will I miss a lot if I move straight to character creation? I'd love to not have to, bit if it is an issue on my end, I would not even know what could be done lol. So far I really like the story, and want to continue!
I think I just realized what the issue is. So, the way Twine works is that if you click/touch/hover over the box surrounding a choice, it will change color without registering as you having clicked on it. You'd think, since the choices have a dividing box, that clicking anywhere within it would work, but I forgot it's more of an aesthetic thing. So for the choice to actually register, you need to click on the text itself.
And to answer your question, though now you should be able to advance regularly through the game: the quick character creation is there for people who already played through the game and want to jump straight into later chapters. I added it for ease of playing when adding new chapters, since old saves can break if I make certain coding changes.
