not sure why but I am unable to play this game on my C64 Ultimate. It goes to the language select and then after playing the first chord it freezes on a grey screen forever.

After testing settings I found that if I load the program but dont immediately run the disk from the menu. Then manually type run and hit return it works....sometimes.
I am unable to get it to be any more reliable but if I load it and manually type run it might work so after a few attempts I can get in and otherwise it seems to play fine. Would still love to know if its a setting I'm missing, firmware issue, or an update with the .prg that might be needed. Is it possible to get the .d64 file as well? Wondering if that may work more smoothly.
That sounds strange. I'm not aware of any similar problem. Before I upload files here, I go through an extensive testing procedure. Therefore, I unfortunately can't provide a file on short notice. However, the .prg version can easily be saved as a .d64 file using a tool like DirMaster. Perhaps you could try that? In any case, thank you very much for narrowing down the problem. Do you experience the same issue with any of our other games on your machine?
I'll have to give that a try as I wonder if the .d64 may work better. No thus far none of your other games have had this problem for me. Kaufmannsgilde has been my favorite so its gotten most of my time of them but I'll comment if any of the others have similar issues. My thought is that something about the .prg file doesn't load correctly with the way the C64U launches it from the emulated disk drive.
