I love the concept of being able to pick any music I have an play guitar hero with it. I do think this has ways to improve, and I really want to see that, because the idea is grand.
Some things I faced that weren’t working so well:
-
When I start a song, it likes to read me a bunch of specs which are being read at the same time and over the song and the inputs I should be pressing. This always makes the start of the song difficult and steps me up for never being able to achieve 100% accuracy.
-
Hearing A, S, D, F doesn’t feel like the rightest way to do it, for some reason, but maybe I’m just not used to it, or it’s because it’s speaking not in tune with the song. It’s something to explore, though unfortunately I don’t have any explicit solution or suggestion to give. Maybe splitting up what each note does?

I think it’s always hard for me, as a sighted person, to understand the timing and cues of playing a blind-accessible rythm game. I was doing much better looking at it, and even more importantly, it felt better also. I wonder if making this controller accessible would help, because maybe the vibration would be less intrusive than hearing the guy talk?

I would love this to have easier modes (with less buttons to click). And maybe even instrument modes. Where I can choose to play with a specific instrument. Maybe we could start with a drum. But like, it’s important to keep things in tune, so this is quite tricky. I would love to see this become more musical, more enjoyable and intuitive musically, but - it’s just not there yet for me? I admit that I am at a big disadvantage for being a sighted person, but the bit about even playing without a screenreader and matching the boops in time, the boops are not playing in tune, so it doesn’t feel as melodic as I would wish it to be.

It’d be nice to see how long the song is when we are choosing what to play. Also, to know the difficulty and all the specs before we actually start playing.
So I would like to recommend you to play Bits and Bops and Rythm Doctor, which I know are two very acclaimed rythm-maded blind-accessible games. I haven’t played either, but I think they are good examples to look at and they might give interesting ideas for improving this game.
I really love the concept and I enjoyed a lot trying to play to a music I chose, and set up myself, (Toby’s music for Where the Wind Sings), which is beautiful, so I was getting emotional. So do please explore this more. I want to see updates and improvements. I hope this helps in that journey.
