that bird's got swag 8) great appetizer! I think the pigeon is already quite charismatic, and if you polish him up a bit more + increase the other characters' appeal, and add more musical variations, this will work nicely even with a simple mechanic! this can be kind of like Toem, but instead of a camera, you have a sax : ) also, Grim Fandango might be a good ref for your environments, while I played it I kept thinking about Calavera Café. And one note that I have on the mechanic is that maybe you could add a setting for attracting people when we're playing the sax on superior levels (smooth and above). I say this because I spent most of the time chasing people, and it could be fun to just stand there playing and attract more and more citizens when we get better at it.

Ah man!  Thanks for giving the game a spin!  Yes, working on the "attraction" mechanic is a great idea.  I already had the thought that different spots, like under a street light or near a statue would boost how often people would stop and listen,

Also, I had the idea you could buy new hats and other gear to make you more noticeable and encourage more people to pay attention.

Yeah, the big issue looming for me is all the sax music.  I could use AI to generate it all but I would really rather not and have real recordings of real musicians playing.  I even bought a cheap saxophone and started to learn how to play it, but I will not have the talent to fit the game for YEARS.

So, what I hear on feedback is:

  • Up the pixel-art quality, add more polish
  • Add more music than the one tune.
  • Work on the "attraction" mechanic

Thanks again for playing the game!
