Its a ui graphical bug.
When editing the character, the UI will display the default values, but the options that you chose are still indeed applied to the charcater.
Are you positive the body types aren't working properly? Would it be possible to submit a screenshot that includes your character's stats?
Well when I edit my character's body type the changes are not reflected in character creator and regardless of what I pick they always look the same in the plaza (outside of the main body type, which seems to work), I'm not sure I can convey that in a screenshot. The fact that the belly type keeps reverting back to "Round" suggests that none of the body shapes are saving correctly for some reason. I'll do more tests.
Edit: Butt seems to work, not sure about the rest. Belly is definately reverting back to round, regardless of what character I edit or make. And to be clear, when you go back to edit a character it will have "round" selected again regardless of what else you have picked before.
