Update: Despite the code being pretty much 90-99% finished, I think I'm still going to drop out from the jam. The main horror element of my game was going to be the graphics and the atmosphere, and I don't feel like posting it to a "horror jam" if the visuals are going to be rushed and botched. I probably would have been able to make it in time if I managed my time better, had more experience with Godot and if my job didn't steal an unusual amount of my time. Oh well, c'est la vie I guess, gonna use this freed up time to focus a bit more on my college project.
(Also, for the curious (again), here's some of the humor element I was planing to add to the experience: one of the jester's ability was to throw a banana peel on one empty enemy space to instantly stun the next wave's enemy on that space during turn 1; the plague doctor (Darkest Dungeon) equivalent was named "The Rat" and had an ability to cure poison named "He needs mouse bites"; no mater the final art style chosen, the final boss was going to be a png of a goldfish with Sonic.exe MS-Paint eyes. I also had the idea of making each character give a special buff for the rest of combat to all their allies after dying (since the lack of reliable healing abilities would make death inevitable) and pair this with the "Vampire" character that had the ability to kill an ally and transfer its remaining health to it, so you could sacrifice a low health character to heal the vampire and give everyone their special buff on turn 1 (dunno if it would have been META, but I thought it was original).
