i dont even know where to start w this, from the art to the story to the writing to the music, everything about this perfectly showcases how it feels to be in an abusive relationship and where they stem from.
im no stranger to these topics in my life, infact my parents are having a pending divorce similar to Yuu and Yua's currently. The way the story was told, paced just right, described exactly how moments like these feel in real life, it was bittersweet, like a bloodstained dagger wrapped in the finest silk.
I knew what I was getting into when I downloaded the game, but I didnt expect it to be so respectful about the topics included- im so used to yandere media not rly doing any worldbuilding, never telling us why the love interest is like that, or the mc just doesnt feel human in the way they respond to the situations- in worst case scenarios its romanticized the shit outta, to the point where the horror that its a real thing that happens is gone and all the yanderes actions are excused for one reason or another.
this wasnt like any of that, i can tell it came from a place of not only talent and hardwork but also passion and care for the subject. its so comforting, this game, if that makes sense? ik horror isnt supposed to be comforting, but just the knowledge that this exists and others that play can get a good idea of what these situations are like in an interactive way, it makes me happy. breaking the generational cycle isnt easy, it takes a lot of willpower to stand in the face of true evil and still stand w ur convictions, and im proud of how thats represented!
the music does its job amazingly, making me feel even more emersed and conflicted.
I remember reading the letters in the links, and it also reminded me of a relationship i just got out of- and just, the entire game was sort of like looking in the mirror, in a good way ^_^"/gen
