Thank you so much for the kind words! To answer your question, there a few things:
No1 you are right, the exact gaping mechanic of moving between platforms in 2d as the gap is too big in 3d was in one of the levels originally but it had to be scrapped due to time constraints!
No2 You cant rotate the room in 3d
No3 In 3d, the Z axis movement is enabled, which means that if you going by a straight platform it would be harder to move side to side on it, switching to 2d, allows for straight movement side to side, an example is the purple level, where you have to go on a plank to reach the checkpoint!
