I'm not too familiar with the itch app, but what platform do you play on? If it's android, the saves are often baked into the app, and so deleting it between updates may also delete your saves.
If you're on PC, shoot me a message on discord and maybe I can help, I'll at least give it a go!
I'm on a Mac; I've always played this game via the app (it's usually just - easier on Macs in general to download that way), but this was my first time doing an update. Still: I've never had any issues with updating other games, hence me being so freakin Confused. The only thing I can think of... maybe because I didn't do the last update? (I wanted to wait for one of the main girls' content before diving back in) But - that would be stupid, if that's the reason....
I'll do some digging around tomorrow and see if I can uncover some save files or roll back the update or - SOMETHING; put my Millennial to the test. If all that fails - I mean: there's nothing I can do - I'll have to play it from the beginning. Which will really suck, but... I guess I'll just wait for you to be finished with the entire game and then do it. I couldn't bear this happening to me again. Thanks for caring, regardless - you're awesome.
Like I said I don't know about the itch app, but I might be able to help a little bit.
Renpy saves on Mac are supposed to be stored in $HOME/Library/RenPy/ and then a Yuri University folder. If the app uses the same file type, which I assume it does, at the very least I could either help you reconstruct your lost save, or even just give you a little boost to speed through the early game easier.
I won't finish making the game for at least a year, so that would be a big wait, but totally understand 😥

So, I checked my files via app -- this is the basic setup:
I didn't really see anything 'save' related beyond 'save location'. If you could reconstruct my save, that would be amazing; I sent a friend request on discord. But even if I'd have to wait a year for everything to be done (and I'm mainly here for the main girls to be completed), I'd just take the loss and be patient. I checked one of my other app games and saw that those saves were lost too/the game reverted to the beginning like YU did, so I'm pretty sure this was a 'itch app update' issue -- nothing else makes sense. Gonna contact them and see what's up there. Thanks again for all your help!

(FIRST) - Thank you, again, for going Above and Beyond to help me recover/play my saves with this latest update. I was bereft and you - -Saved me from the pits of despair.
B: Oh my Good Golly Gee - Hannah's last scene was Phenom -- Exactly what I expected from the awesomely(naughty) open bae she is. I've always loved how Han rides the line of: ridic Cute, yet Sexy at the same time, and it Really was on display here. Also, just - adore making my babes' fantasies come true. 🙂↕️💯 I played through alll the options(duh), and they were All yum/equally hot. And I continue to love the consent + Communication during these scenes ('What would you like?' 'Would you like me to call you something?', remembering safe words, etc.) I also feel like your animations got smoother? They were looking Great in these scenes!!
But not gonna lie: My heart just aboot MELTED at the end when she got quiet with that '....come here.', and - taking off MC's glasses to *see* her (I wear glasses - so this hit esp Hard). And that: 'I love you.' ACK *clutches pearls* I swoon, with Hannah being such a LOUD(FUN) character, yet her love confession was so quiet and still. So much was in her eyes in that moment and I - not only felt like I Accomplished something Great, but also appreciated the ish out of it. Utter Gorgeousness, chekkin. 10/10
Looking forward to checking out librarian scenes next, but - REALLY looking forward to Ashley's last scene. It feels fitting she's the last of the girls to get there; I actually really like that she's not into traditional labels/romance. (and while I'd love to be - - Anything with her, really - and earn that 'I love you', I'd be happy with whatever she's comfortable in giving. <3)
