…describe why what? Why I turned around? Do I have a choice? Is there an alternative end if I don’t turn around?
I’m very excited to try this with my wife, even did some extra reading about the myth and the characters. Thank you for creating and sharing this
First, not dense!
It is describing why you turned around. We were inspired by how we keep telling some stories, like Eurydice and Orpheus, over and over again despite how tragic they are and how much we wish it would turn out better. To quote Hadestown, "It's a sad song, and we're going to sing it again."
So there is no actual alternate end, but one of the things that always remains is the hope that maybe, one day, it will change.
