Hey Asuna,
When updating on Android, all you have to do is place the new .rpa and delete the old .rpa, you don't have to redownload the launcher at all (which is what may have caused the loss of saves).
And where is the old file?
Old file, like .rpa? It will be in the same folder where you initially dropped the .rpa ("game").
