First of all, kudos for even having two entirely different types of gameplay in a single game, especially when you are just doing this solo. The game is fun and does have quite unique art. It has a special look that makes it stand out quite a lot. Gameplay-wise, both game types are easy enough yet still feel exciting to play, but I think they can be further polished and improved. Regardless, I think you've already done a good job making the game despite the issues. Keep up the good work!
Other things I like:
- The sword changes colour when attacking
- The circle notifying collectables being collectables
- A simple yet effective storyline tying the game together
Suggestions:
- Please do not tie the attack with the camera movement, as it induces heavy dizziness for motion sickness people (like me). I enjoyed controlling the sword using the mouse, and would suggest locking the camera when attacking. A toogle maybe?
- It's really hard to judge distance during the spaceship section, and that leads to quite a lot of unnecessary damage. I think simply pulling back the spaceship and scaling down the hitbox and model would make a huge difference
- The dialogue text blended into the background of the space section. Consider adding an outline or a background to the text
