Ended the game with 5905G (put in a random name, Theo, before realising this is a global leaderboard lol) and landed 2nd... That's good enough for me. The concept is really interesting, this somehow reminds me of an old Flash game about soviet sport events, but it's quite different. I do like the cheating aspect (but in betting) of the game, and manipulating ranking is a really interesting idea. Sadly, I think the game suffers quite a bit from being too complex, and it is really overwhelming, especially at the beginning. It's definitely a game that requires multiple playthroughs to even start grasping what the game has to offer. Regardless, I think this is a really interesting entry and well done for putting this together in a game jam!

Other things I like:

  • Global leaderboard, hands down impressive doing this in a game jam
  • The simulate button, which saves a lot of time
  • Eris is super cute, while Platus looks super mysterious. Nice character art!

Suggestions:

  • The game progress is very slow, my suggestion would be not have the player progress other combatants one by one, and just do a quick montage instead
  • Some training levels for each minigame before the start of the main events. I think the player really needs to have a feel of how each minigame plays out before being able to perform rank manipulation
  • I think that, for some further development, losing too obviously should entail some punishment. Themis would not be happy if she notices you toying with the system :)

Thank you for playing our game! Thank you for your feedback and your suggestions (they´re really good). I agree that player onboarding could be polished, and that the complexity of the game can be a bit daunting at first. I´m really glad you stuck with it and set such a high record!
