Visuals
1 ... (main menu) -> miss-matching art styles:
1.1 . main character size is little off (character to big vs details)
1.2 . why is 1 side blurred (scaled up) and other not?
1.3 . right forest has higher detail than left hills
1.4 . all is px art & main menu title is not
2 ... (main menu) I like those buttons: hover works, click animation works with a little touch of shadow as bg
3 ... (game) at 1st I though walls are floor (it almost look the same) -> fix: try different darker colors
3.1 . (game) walls has too much of repetitive pattern for my eyes -> fix multiple tiles for wall & place them in a way it doesn't feel repetitive (tile map editors usually already has build in terrain placement with option of multiple tiles for 1 specified terrain intersection)
4 ... add player animation or at-least 1 different pose for 1 direction (IDLE, left, right, top, down. Left is mirror of right)
5 ... current insta-TP on spawn when you die is harsh -> some full screen animation with pop text from bottom, maybe center icon of animated skull would fix this.
6 ... lava is animated & looks dangerous
7 ... give player option to zoom map:
7.1 . no zoom -> normal gameplay (like you have now)
7.2 . zoomed out -> smaller map view, player is able to drag map & investigate before taking action with character
Design
1 ... add screen transition: credits -> main page (I had to restart game)
2 ... coins & keys gets a lot of focus (even more than player) -> is this intended?
3 ... is this puzzle?
3.1 . If I put box on wrong spot game may be over & I have to restart
4 ... maybe adding for of war (discoverable map) -> would increase map interesting looks (this link looks of war looks good: https://bit-hack.net/tag/fog-of-war)
Controls
1 ... ASDW -> works as intended
2 ... base teleport movement OK
Sound
1 ... I though sound would feel more repetitive based on pattern but does not. Something like chill music -> good work
Bugs
1 ... press move button -> hold it -> rush into lava -> you get spawn teleported (Visual 5.) -> character continue to walk (no pause like spawn teleport jitter)
2 ... pick coin -> pickup sound coin plays -> pink 2nd one before sound 1 completes -> no more sound play for 2nd sound
