First of all, you finished a game that looks great overall — and achieving that in just 7 days, especially as a solo developer, is impressive. Great job!
Things I liked:
-
I really like the core idea of the game. It has strong potential. The scoring logic seems to work well, which I’m sure wasn’t easy to implement.
-
You’ve created a wide variety of tiles, and the fact that they can evolve or interact with each other adds depth to the system. That’s a strong design foundation.
Constructive Feedback:
-
My main issue is that it’s not entirely clear how to play at first. The game explains everything through text, and while I tried to read carefully, it was sometimes difficult to remember what each tile does and how they interact.
I would suggest implementing a step-by-step tutorial that introduces each tile gradually. This would make the system easier to understand and retain. -
I would also consider expanding the scoring structure. For example, you could add multiple levels with different available tile sets, where the player must reach a minimum score to progress. This would create a stronger sense of challenge and progression. Additionally, the early levels could serve as a structured tutorial to properly teach the mechanics.
