Creating a multiple endings game for a jam for your first game jam is incredible! Though here are some feedbacks:

  • Try using different sprite / tiles for floor, background & stairs as i can hardly notice there are stairs that i can walk up and down.
  • The time travelling mechanics is cool though that im able to go back in time and do something that affects my future.
  • Show some visual / audio cues whenever the player does something. Like for the chest for example, I didnt notice that I get the book after opening the chest. I had to scroll down and see all the instructions and try out everything in order to see if they work.

Congrats on completing your first jam. Great job and well done!

Hey JemyDev,

Thanks for the appreciation and glad you liked the game.

I am a complete noob when it comes to art and tried my best. However I completely agree to your points about the staircase. I myself got confused sometimes and hence added the popups which kinda looked off place now that I look at it.
Totally agree about the book thing, completely missed the audio cue/ or a cutscene to show that player got the time travel ability.

Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback and suggestions.

Hey, no problem! We all starts somewhere so dont get too harsh on yourself! You will gain more experience and learn from past mistakes as you participate in more game jams so I would suggest you to join more game jams whenever you are free to sharpen up your skills!

I am also a solo dev and am a complete beginner at drawing since im not really an artistic person so what i do is i just search whatever assets i need from the web (but remember to credits them accordingly!) and use them instead of creating myself. Mad respect that you are able to create the art on yourself tho!

Hope to see you in some other future game jam! 😉
