I'm glad you were able to get it working on linux! How'd you do it?
I've been trying to figure out a way to convert them to linux format, but haven't had luck..

I know of this program for .cur to .xcur, but can't use it on windows ;o;

i used xcursorgen (also a linux-only program, loosely following this guide) with the raw sprites after scaling them up to 2x size. once i had those, it took some real trial and error finding all the connections-- linux uses tons of sprites internally, even if most of them are copies of one another, n often with pretty unintuitive names... even digging for guides wasnt all taht useful and i ended up needing to download other cursors to see what they looked like inside
