Finally finished the game (with a huge amount of help). The game is really well done. These endless chasing weeping angels are super terrifying and induce that dread and urgency that makes the game tense. Although seeing the maiden actually move (caused by the maiden being visible on screen, yet you are not in direct line of sight) feels funny and breaks the illusion a bit. But overall, I love the atmosphere a lot.
My biggest complaint is that I hated the third-person camera, which triggers motion sickness extremely easily. It forces me to pause the game frequently, can't search the place as thoroughly, while also lowering the difficulty, just to not turn the camera too much. It seriously made the game way less fun than it needed to be.
Other things I like:
- The radar is super helpful
- Nice graphics
- The lore and settings sound really cool for a nice story
Suggestions:
- Please allow switching between third-person camera, or at least adding fov settings as well
- The key is super hard to find. It's likely the box blended into the scenery too much and didn't stand out. I would suggest changing models, or at least doing a glow/outline once you are near
- Speaking of outlines, it would be a good idea for anything interactable to have an outline when getting close
- Maybe utilising the radar for the key as well?
- I would also suggest some way to revisit the messages and a way to see the inventory. It would be helpful to know what the player currently has, and revisit the objective if needed
Anyway, this is really well done. Keep up the good work!
And remember, DONT BLINK. The maiden is behind you.
