Really, really solid, especially for a one week jam. The design of the upgrade menu is very cool but slots could maybe be a bit brighter or more visually telling in order to be clearer. The shared pool can maybe make the one or two OP units strat the most effective and could potentially be balanced but overall really interesting idea to make having more units not automatically better. Not sure I totally get the connection to the theme, but overall extremely well done.

Nitpicking but just casue it seems like idea is to turn this into a full game:

  • Drag and drop for movement is maybe less intuitive than click and click.
  • Enemy pathfinding could likely use some work.
  • Make the terrain more interactable for some strategic depth?

We really wanted to challenge the 'more is always better' meta found in most strategy games.

We agree to all your points, and we will definitely improve the game with that in mind.

Regarding the theme: we definitely leaned more into the mechanics for the jam, but we have some lore-heavy updates coming that should bridge that gap!
