So I noticed the game got updated, and that the custom manager feature is present.

So naturally I opened up asesprite and immediately:

(In case it did not embed properly: https://youtu.be/y3JZvCGGYeI?si=fosHiKgV45YcwQr3 )
Below are my opinions and such on the update, and like if it ain't actually done yet, then like feel free to ignore these naturally.

So like having some reference/base to go off of when designing the sprites would be much appreciated. I kind of just had to guess the scale of the sprites, and well she ended up being massive compared to the other characters, and I just gave up on even trying to do the manual sprites. Idk if you want to like just have the sprites for the base characters accessible, but it can just a rough faceless character to use as a scale guide would be very useful.

I guess also as a minor gripe, given the game is always on top, it can at times hide the import png window that comes up

It's not like a major issue, and given I have no clue how you would even go around solving this I wouldn't say it's a huge problem, just was initially confusing when I couldn't find the window due to the game covering it.

Besides that, holy bananas, the moment I saw the update came out I immediately started doodling my CREATION. She did come out pretty rough and like I said her scale is a bit off (never mind how lazily I slapped together her hands) BUT SHE NOW EXISTS IN THE PADDLE ROOMS!!!!

The power ups are also really cool, even though I mostly keep the game in the corner of my screen (thus often don't end up seeing them do their thing), they make the game much more visually interesting when I do occasionally just stare at (Also making stupidly high levels go by faster, which is quite nice).

Besides that, I haven't played much of the new update, mostly because I was frothing at the mouth making my foul creature. However, I will add that the new managers are very funky and silly.

I guess my only other (very) minor gripe is that I was thinking that the eyes would be separate from the main body and could be swapped in various ways/follow the ball. But like, I understand if that would be too hard to implement, and frankly I am just happy with the update as a whole.

I was going to show footage of me having the game open while I play other games (to sum up I often just have the game open while doing whatever, even playing other games), but the footage ended up being a bit lame + I don't even have a video editing software to splice it together, so whoops.

Anyway, sorry if this came off as overly negative or such (or rambly), I utterly adore the game.
Also, you can't add images to reviews for some incomprehensible reason, but I am switching my review to 5 stars just because of custom managers.

Thank you for the response! It's so cool to see someone has already put one of their characters in! Blown away that even just one person has put their own character in, made my day!

I had a sprite sheet with separate eyes to follow the ball, but I ultimately decided against it after some people said it'd be too complex of a system. If I revisit the project (or a sequel) I will do it.

The other managers, DeeDee, Valory, and Generika are made in the same way as the custom characters, so I'll just add them to the download page so people can get a sense of scale.

For the file manager, I tried a couple things, but ultimately I think the current implementation is the best I can do. If you change the screen to not 'always on top' it should pull up normally. There's a file manager that can also open up in game, but since the game is so low rez I decided it'd be best to do a pop-up.

Once again, thank you so much for playing my game!

p.s. You did fantastic work with the pixel art, your robo looks great!
