Glad to find other space themed games with incremental / rogue upgrades, we thought of oxygen too to restrict sessions, I’m happy to see I’m not the only one to think about this concept!
I had a similar game concept in my notes to develop a more incremental oriented game with planets / nodes to discover with a compass, I think the way you did it with the radar is really clean and smart, this makes progression feels smooth
I spent more time than needed on the game but mining different planets (especially the golf ball one) was very satisfying, it has a lot of potential to be a full blown game with quests / story / mechanics
I’m thinking of bots to deploy so it mines with you, incremental mechanic so it mines with « offline » progression, …
Enemies should be more punitive I believe, it’s a bit too easy as of now to avoid them or simply kill them, but in such game and in a jam context, it’s quite hard to balance
Only downside is maybe the red biome which starts to bug out when having a lot of items to collect / enemies on the map ? I’m not sure why this degrades in performances
I also tried to max out power ups but it doesn’t seems to have an end ? When I reached the last planet I one shotted everything and had to go back to the NPC (Meowgurt if I remember correctly) I wanted to check back in the game but I see that my progress didn’t register when I reloaded the page… :(
Also the speed was stuck to 100, idk if it’s related to blaster speed regarding the super cruise mode ? Maybe I upgraded the super cruise too much and not enough the blaster ? It was capped at 100 except one time at 300 or so…
Also quite curious too on how you managed UI, did you guys used UI toolkit or UGUI ? I really like art / polish, it feels really nice, the upgrades buying scaling feels balanced which is something quite hard to do in power ups, especially in jam context, nice job
Great game, I had a lot of fun and would play much more if you guys added content / mechanics / stuff to it, this could be a commercial game easily, happy to see where it goes and how it evolves 👍
