I played through the whole thing, and I actually REALLY liked it. It reminds me a LOT of one of my favorite early indie games "Weird Worlds: Infinite Space", and then a dash of Mass Effect there at the end.
Obviously everything needs a bit of polish and 'fun factor', but it's a game jam! Good job, and good luck.
