Hey, I just played your game and overall I really enjoyed it! The puzzles were enjoyable (not too hard or easy), the creepy atmosphere was good, and I genuinely got jump-scared a few times so great job on that.

That said, I wanted to share some genuine feedback on one thing that frustrated me quite a bit, that is not being able to run in this game.

I understand that some horror RPG developers intentionally keep movement slow to build tension and make the environment feel more oppressive (and it does work for atmosphere here), but for me personally it crossed into frustration territory.

Exploring large areas felt time-consuming, and backtracking after mistakes or realizations often took way longer than it needed to — sometimes feeling like several minutes of just walking. In section 6 especially, after dying and losing progress (I hadn't saved recently in the library), the prospect of redoing the puzzles at normal speed made me quit the game out of exhaustion rather than difficulty.

I do not think I am exaggerating when I say you could have cut an hour of gameplay if you simply allowed players the option to run. Not only was it annoying, it was exhausting and it discouraged me from fully trying to explore every part of the map.

Again, I need to make it clear that I really and I mean REALLY did enjoy this game! ( up until the end where I lost progress due to my own fault.)

I appreciate your honest feedback. It's totally fair and I understand your frustration. Most people didn't seem to mind but I did get some feedback like yours after the initial release. I don't wanna go too much into technical details but while later versions of the RPG-Maker have a build in sprint option at default, older versions (like the one I used) did not have that. And instead of writing a new script to have that option in the game I decided to go the same route as the RPG-Maker games that I enjoyed myself and chose the same walking speed you have in those games. That being said the game ended up larger and with more exploration than I thought at the beginning so I get why some people find it frustrating. I did not add a sprint option in later versions because the game expects the character to have that certain speed and adding a new mechanic would require quite a lot of work... and time. And I'm simply not willing to spend even more months on a project that I offer for free and already took me way too many years to finish. Just to give you an explaination of why it's still the way it is even if some people already mentioned that. But I'm glad you were able to enjoy most of the game!
And I assure you if I ever make another one, I would go in a quite different direction and allow players to customize their playstyle.
(Including sprinting.) Thank you for taking the time to play it and leaving your thoughts!
