The fix has just been uploaded. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for the good idea for a possible solution. To be honest, I told our developer Dmitry that it was Friday evening and well past work hours, but he insisted on fixing it for the folks from itch—so here we are: Friday night, but with the fix :)

P.S. Just load your save file and you should be fine, in the center of the map.
