[Demo] Stonewake, an inventory auto-battler where your item layout builds crazy resource engines

Hey! I’m working on Stonewake, a small run-based inventory auto-battler. The fight is automatic, the real game is the shop and items layout. I want it to feel like you’re building a weird little machine out of items and resources.

Playable link (itch):

If you try it, I’d love feedback on a few specific things please:

  1. Did you understand what your build was “trying to do” after 1–2 rounds?
  2. Was there a moment where the layout/synergy clicked (or didn’t)?
  3. Did the shop pacing feel fair, or did you feel forced into bad buys?

Also: tell me what build you ended up with (even if it failed). I’m tuning clarity + progression and your “I thought this would work because…” comments help a ton.

Hope you guys enjoy this early version! :)

Very cool game.

Pros:

1. Love the artwork and music

2. UI interface was well done.

Cons:

1. It's a "Jump right in" style game, but for me I was a little confused about how to best setup my warrior.  I little more guidance for new players would be nice.  On the flip side, many players don't like the hand holding.  Which reminds me, I need to add a "Skip Tutorial" button to my own game.

2. Is there a way around the "Sign in to Play" at the beginning?  I feel like that may chase away a lot of players.

Anyway, it's a fun game, I will revisit it again soon.   Thanks for sharing it and good luck!  I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

Regards,

Jim

Did not notice your feedback before, thank you so much, I will be considering it :)
