Hi! You get 10 gold from killing the goblin and 15 from killing the troll. That should be enough to upgrade your weapon. I can't remember if using magical abilities on enemies will get you the same, but I did a check with a fighter.
Ah, okay. I picked Druid and did not get an 'attack Goblin' option (at least I could not see one).
