really enjoyed the first two acts, both charas have such strong personalities and they feel very believable. really like all the specific real world references to current politics, authors, video games, etc, it makes the story feel very grounded and realistic (also the photographic bgs help a lot... i love photographic bgs and they work really well in this story, they're very beautiful and look so pretty with the sprites)
The chara designs are great too, chun and nica are both so cute... they have such a nice range of expressions, nica especially is rly adorable
it was interesting seeing the events from two diff povs and seeing how they interpret things differently + their diff opinions, you really get a sense of how diff they are to one another from even the little things (for eg nica rly enjoying the bigfoot movie and thinking it might be one of her new favs vs chun finding it pretentious haha, even this small interaction shows they might not be on the same page re: interests and their personalities as they thought... also nica's unease and fear around the first kiss and how she dwells on it, vs chun kinda not thinking about it At All until a bit later when nica is quiet and she thinks "oh maybe i messed up...")
the first 2 acts are comprised of small, quiet moments of dissent between the charas like this and i liked it a lot, the vn feels like it's saying a lot while being very understated... rly captures the difficulties of simply being a human and talking to other humans and how hard it can be to understand even ppl you're close to
i dooo kind of think nica is a little too mean to chun in the third act, i don't think she's wrong to be upset by what chun does (cause uh being used as a replacement for her ex + being estalked is pretty nasty behaviour), and at the beginning i was kind of fully on team nica and rooting for her to give chun a bit of a talking to (since it felt pretty deserved)
but some of the language used felt unnecessarily harsh, like calling her a 'monster' or laughing at how 'pathetic' she is when chun is clearly already in a rly bad spot and has apologised multiple times
it felt a bit like beating a dead horse when chun had already apologised, but i get nica felt betrayed by chun's actions (also p a bit disappointed/let down since she spent a lot of money visiting her and it didn't work out how she wanted)
i guess some of the uncharitableness might have been the point though, since neither of them is meant to be 'perfect' and they're both kind of selfish in diff ways?
well i found the 3rd act pretty painful to read, but i still ultimately liked it a lot. i also have a lot of Thoughts about it, and the charas felt very real to me. thank you for making it, for such a 'superordinary story' i think it has a lot of heart
