I know that there will be growing and shrinking, but those will be with inputs. would it be possible to make a section where you are shrunk to the smallest you can go and have the character be trapped in a large room, like an escape room, and slowly grow till they either burst out, or escape the normal way? You can make it so you take large damage if you burst out and still give you something?

I predict shrinking would not be too difficult to add. Shrinking could also fit in with story/worldbuilding I have. I'd like to do a few detailed interiors that could serve as levels for shrinking, but making growth mechanics, NPC interactions, and levels for larger sizes will be higher priority for now. After growth part of the game is in good state, I may do something with shrinking, if there is still interest; I have a few ideas for that.

I'd like to make player being able to outgrow buildings from inside, if that's what you meant by "burst out". Though, it would likely not deal damage.

Sorry, what I meant was something like this," you walk through a valley and feel something splash your face, before you realize what is happening, you pass out. you wake up later in what looks like a giant science lab at a considerably reduced size. you hear shouts of a chemical leak (or something, it's your game) you then feel yourself getting larger, but you can't control it. it seems you must escape from this facility before you outgrow it!!!" something like that but its underground or something, which is why I suggested taking damage.
