Playability:
A bit hard to understand how the eye mechanic works directly. Passing over eyes didn't seem to impact their vision negatively or positively. Blitzing levels seemed to be the best strategy here. I might be missing something.

Theme:
Good implementation of the theme here. You've tied gameplay directly to it and you've done a good job making it compelling.

Cleverness:
PICO-8 is a great tool for your art style and it comes together niceless. Good use of classic chipset sounds as well.

Artistic Style:
Timeless and consistent art with chiptune sound effects. Love it.

Thanks for the feedback Thor. Yeh, the eye mechanic is hard to explain in the PICO-8 engine and the art being restricted is hard. And yeh, it was hard to figure out the right balance between the observation variable andhow fast it goes up.
