As an additional example, consider Organizational Suport (https://marvelcdb.com/card/50014). The wording is "exhaust up to 3 allies and/or supports you control that share a Trait with your identity". Can you exhaust allies that you do not control or that do not share a trait with your identity? I do not think that is the intention of the card.
