Why sad? Magic Ring is back and it's gonna have everything that Ringman offered.

It's not pointless since help me make a better code.

Yeah, significant changes.

No questline during ghost hunting job.
It will be well paying compare to what we had in Ringman. (Depends on your role)
As there will be day and night cycle, no time limit but the amount of money for identification and banishment will be reduced over time once clock reached 12AM(will be 0 at 8AM but can still try to find the ghost).
For first two year, you will be assistant. Your job will be to wait in the truck till Rumia find the ghost room or tell her where the ghost room is. Bring her items as she demands them or identify the ghost yourself and tell her. After that the contract will end you will get 15% of what Rumia earns.
On third year and second half of fourth year, you will be ghost hunter like in Ringman game but you will need to find each and every assistant including Aoi (She will not stop you from hiring any one else this time). And you choose how much cut you want Ryoko to have but must not be 0(unless the contract fails).
Getting caught once will fail the contract.
Failing contract will not pay you a single coin and you will lose items unless you have assistant. Truck assistant = No item loss. Site Assistant = You will be paid for whatever objectives are done.

It really does sound ambitious and im all in for it. As far as I understand these are good news no? Ringman content gets updated and improved with the story and timelines u had in mind making it A bigger and richer game. Being able to play as masuo through your 4 years history will be a charm, and I cant support you enough.

If there are so many quests, plots, outcomes, timelines (which im excited as hell, even without you helping us), the quest reset will be more specific (like resetting only a part of a quest or reset from a branching point, something like a scroll from lady mystery with a road that branches and we can return to either point, or will there be a different saves option?

And about the year system, will it advance when you reach certain points of the history no? The whole night and day cycle is not a time limit like after 300 days year will change.

Also, the lore and background for character profiles will change? or they will mantain their relations and backstories, all of the timelines you explained, etc.

Well game will run for 4 years. An year will have 4 months/seasons. A month will be consisting of 25 days. This year system will be applicable to a few special maps such as past college and when you got back to Hailey's time.

After completing year 4, there will be two outcomes.

If you refused the ring, you will see ending cutscene and you have to begin a new game.
If you get the ring, a cutscene will play, after which you can continue playing but year doesn't progress over 4.

Characters will have whatever backstories they have, just the questlines will not have sequence. A few quests you played in Ringman will appear in year 1 or 2.

Alright so it will be a time-limit of some kind, but no limitations on when to do stuff, like the game is not rushing us to do stuff no? Or it will be like a persona game where some events are only available until a certain date. I understand since we start as assistant and at year 3 we become a hunter, some stuff will change surely, but since it will be a huge game with a lot of stuff to do and go I hope it doesnt like rush us to do stuff xD.

And regarding the progression, if the questlines wont have a sequence, it will be possible to do multiple saves, reset from a certain point (like when a month starts or when a day starts)? Will the game have some kind of checklist to know (not to know what to do exactly, but to have an idea of completion, like a percentage, a list..?)
Im really excited for this project, it sounds, wow, sorry if im making too many questions but this is like, wow xD

Questline will be available after a date. Most will not have any time limit but a few will. Like Hinata's and Ai's quest.

No need for multiple saves as animations will stay unlocked and you will be able to go back to a specific date once getting Aya. Will have a gallery with character names and their animations names(will be ???? if you didn't unlock it).

Ah alright, Ava being the Goat. Im more at peace knowing we will have the tools to go back to specific dates to redo stuff and explore everything we want. Really cool, hugs!

Ringman obviously takes place when masuo has taken the ring. So I assume alot of that stuff we have been playing is gonna become a branch path in Magic Ring? So long as all the stuff that ring man had is still there I don't mind one bit, you have the timeline jumping stuff already in place so hopefully going back and fourth between decision points will be seamless. I think the assistant opening sounds cool.

Yes, it's all gonna be there in Magic Ring. You will be able to change timelines as you unlock them and go back in time (Note that if you played game till Autumn of 3rd year, you will not be able to go past that date).

So Autum of 3rd year is something like a point of no return? And if we complete the game and end a timeline, then ryoko resets it all the way to the start? or we can keep playing to see all the timelines? For example, we do the Riku timeline, it ends, and then we can keep playing on that timeline to see stuff or Ryoko locks it off and we go back to the start of the game?

No, what I meant is that you will not be able to go in future. That is, let's say you played the game until 10th Spring of 4th year, you can go back at any point before that time but never in 11th Spring Year 4, Summer Year 4, etc.

If you complete the game depending on a few factors you can still continue playing trying to complete all side quests. Those timeline with all lovers are not there just those lovers will be available after doing a quest. You will be able to choose which lover you want after that quest. Everything else will remain same.

This is amazing—it feels like a massive indie game. I absolutely loved the story when I played Ringman before. If this is anything like that, I'd buy it right now if I could. I've always been a huge fan of pixel art games because their incredible stories create such immersive experiences. My first time playing Ringman was when I stumbled upon it online and got hooked instantly. Among all similar games I've played, this one holds the record for both playtime and my highest rating. I hope the developer stays focused and creates even better games. Honestly, AAA titles don't move me much anymore—what truly matters to me is the story and world-building within a game. Crimson Bird, I adore you so much. Please keep going!

As I suspected. if ringman changed its name to Magic Ring.. YEYYYY... Glad to hear that, with the expanded content it makes sense to change the name because if it's stuck at Ringman the alternating Timeline plan seems a bit off for LSHRM. I can't wait to see it later after you finish these 2 projects.

LSHRM was whole story I wanted to tell fitted into just one year. I think it's better if I do all four years of it.

That's actually 4. HTA, LSH, CB Remake and Survive Remake(thanks to Unity security exploit).

When you explained that Masuo had 9 lovers in his previous life, I was confused. Is there another timeline besides Timeline 0, 1, 2, 3? Luckily, you explained that. I understand the plot a little bit.

Will those 4 games be completed first before returning to the Magic Ring?

Depending on which lover you chose, their previous version counter part will be in the timeline 0. 1,2,3 are for when you do something that Ryoko never expected.

Yeah ghosthunting may change a lot. I have few ideas but will see in future. I'm also removing a few of Masuo's animation to work finish these projects quickly. I know it's a few quests in Magic Ring are gonna be difficult to figure out but it's better not having hints about them so actual game can be in the development soon.
