PC saves into Android device — Explanation & Step-by-Step Fix
Unfortunately, MDRG does not have a cloud-save system, so your progress cannot sync between devices automatically, even if you log into the same Itch.io account. All saves must be stored locally on the device itself.
When you click “To file” in the browser version, your PC will download your exports a save file that you can transfer manually. You can import this save on Android, the process works the same way as installing a mod on mobile, except you select your save file instead of a mod .zip.
How to import your PC save into Android (Step-by-Step):
(This uses the same system as mod installation on Android)
1. Make sure Android has file permissions
If no files appear when importing, Android may be blocking access.

2. Open the game and start the import process
- When installing mods (or importing a save) for the first time, MDRG will open your device’s file manager.
- The window may look empty—tap “Browse” to access folders.
- Android will ask you to choose a folder to use as the official “Mods Folder.” The game will remember this folder forever.
📝 Important: If you already pressed “Allow” once, Android won’t show the permission popup again. It will simply wait for you to pick a folder.
3. Create a folder for your mods/saves
Examples:
Internal Storage / MDRG_ModsInternal Storage / Download / MDRG_Mod
Move your exported save file into this folder.
4. Import the save file
- Go back to MDRG
- Choose Load → From file
- When the file manager opens, select the folder you created
- The save file inside should appear and be importable
If the exported file isn’t corrupted, it should import normally.
If USB transfer didn't work
If the file arrived broken or Android couldn’t read it, try this method:
Alternative method (recommended):
- Upload your exported save file to Google Drive
- On your Android device, download the file again
- Place it inside your chosen Mods Folder
- Try importing it once more
This avoids USB formatting issues that sometimes break files during transfer.
