Regarding your questions, the flowers are somewhat random; some require specific recipes, and others appear based on luck. I'm glad you created your account; now you can play from anywhere, and your progress will be saved. As for the garden, besides giving some purpose to saving the plants, the implementation is that each plant has a buff that improves with levels (currently, only the rose has one x,d).
