Oh also, I switched over to controller halfway through and it was much better than WASD! I recommend people play this one on controller if that's available to you.
Controller was definitely the expected way to play, but we also wanted to allow people to still explore the game without one in case they just had a mouse and keyboard. Thanks for the feedback!
