When I first read the game's description, I thought it was leaning toward horror. Honestly, I’m not particularly good with that genre. However, when I actually played through to the end, what I felt went far beyond just “horror.” It was a profoundly memorable experience. Whether it was the writing, the soundtrack, or the art design of the monsters, the game displayed an impressively high level of polish.
The narrative immediately reminded me of《The Stanley Parable》. The narrator isn’t just a guide and they feel like a distinctive voice engaging with you. Their descriptions of furniture and the environment are full of everyday charm and humour, which made me want to click on every interactive object in each chapter just to hear more of their reactions. Two moments stuck with me especially: when I chose a plant, they reminded me to take good care of it; and when I picked the chessboard, they suggested I step away from the screen, focus more on real life, and play a few board games instead. That simple line felt unexpectedly heartwarming and reading it left me feeling quietly refreshed inside. I could sense behind it a creator who loves life and notices its subtle details.
Then there’s the monster. At first, I was genuinely nervous meeting them. But as I spent more time with them, I realised they weren’t scary at all. In fact, I found myself wishing I could have someone like them by my side in real life. They aren’t the most expressive, yet they have their own distinct perspective on everything. My favourite moment was when, while looking in the mirror, they said: “I like you because you are you.” Hearing that from someone who’d been with me day after day and knew me so well and it was truly moving. And all those little details while showing them around the house, their reactions made me want to screenshot every moment. Their character art and animation are beautifully crafted, conveying their personality and mood every time they appear.
Among the many indie games on itch.io, this one undoubtedly has its own unique soul and charm. I’m no professional reviewer, but I genuinely wanted to record everything I felt while playing. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful game.
