As an already old fellow, I knew the snake game on my Nokia 3210 so your game felt nostalgic ! Controls are really good, you can do really fast changes of direction, so the game is playable. My concerns would be that the map feels really gigantic, compared to the original game (which looks like a 28 x 13 grid, something like that) :

so tension feels different because it takes a lot of time to go across your screen.

Noticed two other things :
- you can go through your snake without any issue, which is not possible in the original game and adds to the tension in the original one. I don't know if that's a choice or something you didn't get time to implement.

- the score bugs in my playthrough : I can see it going up, but immediately goes back to 0, whatever length my snake is.
Otherwise, in such a short time you had, this is already a really solid implementation !

Thanks for playing! Regarding the map, in hindsight I should’ve used bigger sprites yup. As for the other two things you mentioned, yeah they’re the results of my lack of time haha.
