The Lore!!! Holy shit the Lore! I'm not even through with this, but the Lore!!! I'd ramble, but I'd rather leave others to experience it themselves, don't read into my comment thread if you want to experience the update yourself.
Okay, so we apparently are likely to be a dragon. Weather or not in some fucked up way the dragon in the beginning of the story is us, but we fractured our soul or some shit is not easy to tell. First off, we were able to pull ether from leylines easily. Only dragons are said to be able to do that by one of the elk spirits. The detail of traitor seemingly reaching up towards a dragon's wings depicted in the mural is fucking sad especially when you realize the crystals are meant to represent tears. Then you see traitor looking at those below him with seemingly an upset gaze. Assuming I interpreted it correctly. In any case, especially adding onto the fact that our character feels sad when looking at it implies that we are the dragon from that mural that you can barely see ascending into the sky.
Fuck, I never thought I would cry for traitor. I mean he's hot and I want him to be my ally and a part of my party, but fuck man. I now want there to be an option to just hug this snake. I want that to be an option in the next update! Please Roads! Let me give the snake a hug!
The thing is we haven't been given enough lore yet to firmly say how much one can bend a soul. Like sure there's demonic influence and stuff. Yet what about stitching parts of souls together? Also, I love these characters and hope that some of them can join our party like Fumigator and his femboy wife, or at the very least they show up more often. Seriously though, I was not expecting the mutated Strawberry Lizard and Cthulhu tentacle beast. I want to see those characters again cause they were hot and I feel like they could develop as characters. There's also the one dude who was just like: fuck it I'm out of here. That reminded me so much of a scene from the world ends with you where there's a similar state where loads of characters are in a trance. Then there's one dude who's just clueless and out of the loop who just ends up leaving.
