From experience with Apple stores : go ask for a second advice NOT from apple.
A lot of the time they don't want or care to bother with actual restoration, and I see absolutely no reason for a liquid to damage an ipad's memory storage.
Like really, Apple doesn't have a good customer service for this kind of stuff, and there's a chance they just didn't care enough imo.
