Does this premise defy the jam's rules?

Hello! I'm working on a game that I'd like to submit for this jam, but was a bit worried if I could submit it due to the "no incest" rule. The game's biggest plot line is the incestuous abuse one of the mc's suffered from her father inside of an incest cult he ran and how it still affects her to this day. I will trigger tag it properly, for both CSA and incest, and I do intend to make it clear in game that what she went through was horrible, but I'm a bit worried that it still might not qualify. Can someone let me know if it does?

Hiya, this is a great question, and something which I will have to clarify in the FAQ/beginner’s guide next year forward.

I have had these hard blanket rules for a few years for several reasons which I won’t go into in too much depth; but partly it was to cut down on screening entries (this is a 1 person effort), to avoid certain types of entries which glorify and/or sexualise certain subject matter which I have a personal hard no-thank-you attitude about (such as incest), and avoid having both myself and any entries be subject to the recent harsh guidelines toward nsfw content as a result of recent payment processor’s pressure on platforms hosting this type of content due to legislation in different countries (my own included.)

I am aware that the hard-no’s are a little hypocritical, given that other serious and horrendous subject matter which is risky is A-OKAY to have in entries (murder and all of that other stuff…) But for now, I will say that this entry wouldn’t meet the rules despite the nuance on the subject matter as it is a hard rule. You could revise the idea a little, or submit it to another yandere/dark romance-esque jam (I think Stained Red will be running again and they have different rules from this jam.)

Hope this helped give some insight! <:)

I see, I understand completely and I'll see if I can check out the jam you recommended. Thank you for the reply!

No problem, glad it could shed some light for you ^^ and good luck with your project, it sounds quite interesting all things considered!
