A cute game indeed! Love the drawings. I think this game might work better without a score, though. There's also definitely some layering issues. Do the kittens simply choose one toy and obsess over it? Two of my kittens constantly chased the sock and didn't do anything else. Would like some more variety in there. The music loop is a bit on the short side and gets repetitive pretty quickly. Also kinda wish Mama Cat could play with the toys, too, maybe even some interaction with her kittens. Still, I spent about five to ten minutes watching kittens do cute stuff, so I think the game very much fulfills its goal :D

Thanks for playing and giving feedback!

The kittens do change target after playing a bit with the same toy. Mama Cat can also play with the toys, though she bumps them around instead of doing a "wiggle butt" push like the kittens. It still gives points. Playing with the kittens is definitely a good idea too!

The topic of whether points are appropriate is interesting. We planned to have the points unlock new toys which have given the system a purpose (right now it is completely useless) but maybe the game would altogether be better without it.

Thanks again for the feedback and kind words :)

Hello, I'm the artist for the game, thank you for your nice words and the feedback! We truly did our best, but that game jam really came at a time where everyone had super busy schedules, so we all spent a little less time than we would have liked to on it, I hope we'll get more opportunities to make it a little more lively and implement some of our initial concepts for interactions! (I even came back to add the sock in at 1 AM because it didn't make any sense to not put it in, Nanachi, my cat that was the inspiration for Mama Cat, has an obsession with socks and I would have betrayed her image if I didn't do it)

As Mama Cat, you can pick up the kittens and toys to move them around, if you wish to change their focus! The pick up button is Q for both toys and kittens, and you have an interact button to play with the toys too, on E. Happy to see that even as a simple as it is, it still made you smile!

omg you were right, while checking something else I realized that there is a bug that causes the kittens to always stay with the same toy. Oops!
