Hi, on my Android I tried to update through the app from version 25.4 b. It would take me to the authentication page and I would authenticate it through itch.io. it would say I could close the window for the authenticator. when I go back to the game it doesn't update. Is there any other way to update the game without getting rid of my saves?

The downloader is not maintained anymore.
You can uninstall the game and download/install the full game apk.
