I love, love, love the simplicity that the game has. However, I think a healthbar or some other kind of hit marker for the characters would make it a lot more enjoyable/ intuitive. Definitely partially user error, but until I played the 4th character with the laser I did not even realize I was damaging the boss. I do love the mechanics and design though! (I would probably tweak the laser character because you can kind of just spam the laser and all the bosses die).

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the health bar, it's visible in the bottom corner, but it's probably something no one notices, and the damage effects don't help. I didn't get around to polishing that since I rushed the game. As for the fourth character, I had several issues. Initially, he was supposed to be the slowest, but his original speed made him quite slow. So, I increased his speed so he'd move somewhat quickly, but not so quickly that he'd outpace the other characters. As an extra step, I made it so that instead of having a fixed damage per second, he could slightly change his damage, and I think I overdid it. I didn't realize because I was testing the other three characters more than the fourth.
I don't know if I can fix the problems it has since I rushed the game and I forgot to add some bosses that were going to appear in the final version (I might post their concept sheets). Also, this is a game jam, so I'm not sure if I can fix the game. But thanks for playing anyway.
