It’s not a bug. You have to take the key from your bag and use it on the door lock
Thanks! I beat everything in the game, bought everything in the shop, and in all that time I didn't even notice I had a bag. Could be a me-issue, but I suppose a quick tutorial of UI elements wouldn't hurt for unobservant people like me.
