I have to honestly admit I found it kind of funny… even though I’m strictly against license violations. And I also have to say, the game could have been much better without Mario or Luigi and with its own original idea. The foundation is good, but I’m not sure why you’d lean on such well-known genres and characters. Original ideas would have been a lot better.
The atmosphere is good and the gameplay is solid, but the jump sound only plays when you release the button, which feels kind of wrong. If the assets and sounds were changed, the game would honestly have been a real gem for me… I really mean that.
