I really like how the visual changes to the character impact the player stats and I can see that it's going to add a lot of strategy and interest to the gameplay. I liked that you included the scarecrow, spike and platforms to test thing out. The star with shades, propeller hat and a cannon was my favourite. I did run into a couple of movement bugs that might be worth looking into so at the very start I couldn't move left or right until after I jumped. Later on, I got stuck again when the camera zoomed in. Aside from those hitches, the looks and core mechanics feel really promising and I'm sure any kinks will be ironed out in the next round but for this round I think you nailed the customisation of the character perfectly!
