  • Is the core puzzle idea fun?

Yes, the core puzzle idea is fun. I don’t typically gravitate to puzzle games, but I picked this up pretty quickly. the mechanics and visuals are appealing

  • Are the rules easy to understand?

Yes, the first few rooms teach the game well. the only thing I would add is just a prompt at the first level like “click the robot”. I know this is in the itch comments, but could help for onboarding

  • What was the most frustrating moment in what you experienced?

I can’t tell if you can deselect a bot. It would be useful if you could

  • What was your favorite moment?

There is a nice element of surprise when you have a theory about how a particular puzzle works and then you watch it happen the way you expect

  • Was there anything you wanted to do, but the game didn’t let you?

Back out of a bot selection. I understand that “once you start a bot, it continues on it’s path”, but if you want to go back and forth between looking at the puzzle and the bot you selected you can’t. being able to do so would help with more careful decision making

  • If you had a magic wand where you could change any part of the game, regardless of cost or complexity, what would you add/change/remove?

I know you were also thinking about art direction. I generally like the art direction, but I think some simple animations could go a long way. Right now, if the player isn’t doing anything there is no movement on the screen. Perhaps consider a moving background (the non-level space) Maybe the bots could have a small light on them that is like an “idle pulse” before they are operated. the hole (where you can push blocks into) does not immediately register like a hole. maybe there is a way to give it some depth, like shading from lighter to darker. it took me a second to realize it was a hole

  • What would you say you were doing in the game?

Selecting from one of three protocols for robots to navigate Sokoban style puzzles.

  • How would you describe the game to friends and family?

Program cute robots to complete block-pushing puzzles

I hope this is useful. Let me know if you have any questions or need clarification!

Thanks for playing and the feedback! I totally agree about the world being to lifeless unless the bots are moving. In my previous game that this project was spawned from I had little flickering torches spread throughout the levels that added a bit of life to the scene
