wouldve been better with a polish on the visual but peak is peak basically pvz 🤝
Great game! I used to love playing PvZ on my phone when I was forced to be somewhere I didn't wanna be as a kid! Like some other people here, I had an issue in the first few levels where some tiles at the bottom just didn't let me place a robot, but it seemed to sort out later, or perhaps I just stopped causing whatever caused the issue. I think the first few levels in general are a bit confusing, I was pretty lost on what I was doing, what each robot did, etc. And that is my fault bc I didn't wanna read everything in the almanac. But I'm actually glad I didn't, because I was pleasantly surprised as new enemies kept showing up as I progressed through the levels! And I think their designs were intuitive enough for me to figure out how to deal with them all on my own! I had a blast after about level 2, once things started picking up and I got into the flow of things, really fun game!!!
It's so sweet that you even shared your anecdote with us; it actually made very happy to read it, i like sm that you could enjoy our game that way cx
I'm actually taking a lot of notes; i think getting more testers might be a good idea for our next jam. But thinking about it, I think we should start doing a better job when making tutorials xD
Tysm again, i love your entry btw <3
Its definitely a fun little game and it has that flash era charm to it thats for sure games that youll see in y8 or something
I really enjoyed the game. The music and art were amazing too. Though I was having an issue getting stuff to place with it usually taking a few clicks, probably because I was missing the hitbox. So maybe you could make it too where while hovering over the tiles it snaps to the nearest tile for easier placement. Though I think it might have just been a skill issue on my end.
Cool game! It was very plants v zombies-esque which def fit the theme of simpler times cause it was a classic game when I was younger. Keep it up!
zombies vs plants for game jam, and you're good ) I've been enjoying a couple of levels, so good job!
I loved the visual style — it looks really great. Plant vs. Zombies wasn’t even this challenging. It turned out to be a very cute yet challenging game, and I loved it. There was probably a strange bug: on level 1, I couldn’t build on some tiles. I had enough energy, but it still wouldn’t let me build.
absolute bonkers of a game! amazing art style, although i had some trouble figuring out abt the game in tutorial but i could just be dumb, after i got the hang of it, i had very fun continuing with the game. You did an amazing job man!
broooo you game is fire
the robots are tiny and cute and the gameplay is sooo smoth
ther is a glitch were you can spam clik to spawn a lotte of robots a ones but l know you can fix it
Really nice game! Reminds me of Plants vs Zombies. Really liked that game and like this one too. I did struggle to figure out what the bat is for though. Couldn't use it? Anyway, the music is fitting, the art is great, and the experience is awesome. Well done with this submission as your first game jam!
hmm, it's weird to say, but 50/50. Theo and I have been individually trying to create games since last year, projects we haven't finished yet or that we'll pick up again when we're better devs. Neither of us has actually finished a game until now, when we finished our submission. Robo Rush R is our only public and finished game XD. Before, we did things like FNF mods and other mod stuff. For example, I made personal TBOI mods just for fun. we gained more experience from there. we each knew about art, music, and programming, but we divided up the work according to our specializations, and we had a very enjoyable workflow, developing from morning until the very late night lol while helping our families and keeping in touch with our closest relationships, like our partners and closest friends. Telling your loved ones what you're doing and involving them in what you love to do makes them feel included and an important part of what you're creating. When we finally launched the game and saw it on the submission list, I was super happy and celebrated with our friends on voice chat. My family heard us celebrating, so right there on the voice chat, they congratulated me and gave me a hug. It was such a beautiful experience, honestly. I'm already looking forward to participating in another jam, for real XD
I think I talked too much, lol! tysm Tain!
Pretty impressing for first game jam Pvz clone.. And If you can.. Play and rank my game call kill or be killed Mario exe.. I would really appreciate it if you did :)
Fun textures and effects. A decent PvZ clone with some interesting ideas. Like it!
Bro just made a better PVZ but I suck at PVZ. The Argument of it being simpler time because we all played flash games i dont understand but besides that overall 4/5

Since this was based of PVZ I thought it was going to be a exact clone to the original but its great that it has a different identity compared to PVZ. The enemy variety was good maybe the ice cube could be a bit stronger. The defenses aren't just exactly all copies from PVZ like peashooter, sunflower a few had their own gimmick. I would say that maybe the end of the level drags on to much and isn't threatening. Maybe the explosive (Buk) cost could be increased, have a cooldown, or have a nerf in overall power. He feels to spammable like a really cheap doom shroom. But these issues are easily fixable. And I will say I was obsessed with PVZ and PVZ like games as a kid so this was fun to play.
