I only now found out about Thena and the option to save her. do I have to replay the whole game for that? I've currently finished most of the main story
If you have a save before the cave scene, you can play from there, or you can start a new game and skip to version 1.4.3 (although I don't remember if that version is further along than that scene), but it's the only option to save her
