Hi! I’m a solo developer working on a 2D strategy/management game in Godot called Time Distortionists. Core gameplay and UI systems are already functional, including the main timeline interface.

The game is built around exploring and manipulating a timeline from outside of time, using portals to view small scenes from different eras. The tone is sci-fi/temporal, with an emphasis on clarity, atmosphere, and readable UI.

I’m currently exploring possibilities for bringing on a 2D artist (including pixel art) to help establish the game’s long-term visual identity.

---

Current UI examples (for context only)

Attached to this post are prototype screens showing the general layout, diamond portal nodes, and the sci-fi/temporal vibe. All art is placeholder and has the potential to be replaced: this is just to give a sense of scale and direction.

---

What I’m looking for (exploratory stage):

- Pixel art with a clean, readable style

- Small scene illustrations (e.g., 256×256 "site" images scaled down to 128×128 viewed through portal frames)

- UI elements (icons, portal frames, visual motifs, simple shapes)

- Potential future work:

  - Background/environment art for the Moment View and Location View

  - Timeline backgrounds

  - Agent/character portraits

  - Visuals for base facilities (once style is established)

- Experience delivering game-ready PNGs or spritesheets (preferred)

---

Style direction (current phase):

The UI layout is already implemented, supported by temporary art created during prototyping. The final aesthetic is still flexible: I’m looking for an artist who can help define a cohesive style across eras, UI layers, and portal scenes.

---

Scope (exploratory, not locked in):

The full asset list is still being developed.

I’d like to start with a small paid test asset (e.g., a 128×128 site illustration) to confirm stylistic fit.

If we both feel good about the collaboration, we can outline the broader asset needs together.

---

Budget:

Open to hourly or per-asset rates depending on your workflow.

To apply, please include:

Thanks for reading: I’m excited to connect with artists and explore possibilities for a long-term collaboration.

can we discuss in private?

can't find you on discord. do you have any messangers?

Huh, weird, it should be there @bill3000

i added you btw

Hey Quillan86. If you need pixel art, I do a whole lot of that, and it's the only art medium I do for the most part (not standard digital art like Photoshop), but pixel art is what I specialize in. I just I haven't worked with other developers very often, or sci-fi topics. Currently I think I would charge an hourly rate of $30/hour. Charging per asset can be harder because the amount of time and work can be unpredictable and vary. Typically I like to start things in grayscale and then do a quick color overlay paint on a new layer when doing preview art, but with that said, here's my portfolio. I do mockups, UI, animations, things like that. If you like my work, give me a reply and then we can switch to discord or something. https://cara.app/imonk
